Most of our Master’s programmes are taught in Leiden, but some programmes are taught either entirely or partly at our campus in The Hague.
As soon as you step outside Leiden Law School, you will find yourself in the heart of Leiden’s historic city centre. Student associations, student accommodation and university buildings can be found throughout the city. Within just a few minutes’ walk, you can reach a wide range of shops, cafés and restaurants.
In summer, you can also enjoy a break in Van der Werfpark, located opposite Leiden Law School. The city’s historic canals, picturesque courtyards and impressive monuments, such as the Pieterskerk, the Academy Building and the Burcht, also provide a lively setting for enjoying drinks or a meal outdoors.
Leiden is home to many student associations, ranging from sports clubs to music societies, as well as a vibrant cultural scene and a wide range of sporting opportunities.
By train, it takes just eleven minutes to travel between the two cities. This makes it easy to live in Leiden and attend classes in The Hague, or vice versa.
The Hague is a rapidly growing student city, with Campus The Hague welcoming more students each year. As the third largest city in the Netherlands, The Hague is considerably larger than Leiden. However, the university buildings are all located within walking distance of each other in the city centre. The Hague is known as the international city of peace and justice and is home to numerous embassies, political institutions and international courts. Campus The Hague also has a strong international character, with many Master’s programmes taught in English and students coming from all over the world.
The Hague is at the heart of Dutch politics and is home to many international legal organisations, including Europol and the International Criminal Court. Many multinational companies are also based in The Hague.
With the beach close by and a wide range of attractions and landmarks, including the Peace Palace, the Mauritshuis, Noordeinde Palace, the Binnenhof, Madurodam and the Pier, there is plenty to discover in The Hague.
The Hague also offers an extensive range of sports and cultural activities.
