Leiden Law School

The Faculty of Law is one of Leiden University’s seven faculties. Each year, more than 2,100 students choose one of our LL.M. or MSc programmes, including programmes in the fields of Law and Criminology.

“For Law and Criminology,
Leiden is the place to be.”

With our international outlook and deep roots in the Dutch legal system, we have educated generations of students for careers in legal practice and the field of security, both in the Netherlands and internationally.

Sharing experiences

Our academics often combine their academic work with professional practice and are keen to share their practical experience with students during lectures. In addition, some of our PhD candidates join us from professional practice to deepen their academic expertise.

Leiden and The Hague

Leiden Law School is based in two beautiful historic buildings in the historic city centre of Leiden; the Kamerlingh Onnes Gebouw (KOG) and the Old Observatory. We also provide teaching at the campus The Hague and conduct research there.
